A coin change machine can cost around $2000 and it is best to have more than one in case one has a problem that takes it out of service.
A card system can run into the tens of thousands of dollars.
Call me crazy, but I think I see inflation hitting sometime in 2013 or 2014 in a big way. So I recommend investing in a card system. You don't want to mess with changing the prices on a coin machine.... at a certain point it may become ridiculous for the person to keep sticking in a handful of coins just to run the machine.
